The American government considers the sale, export and import of defence items and services to be an integral part of the American national security surveillance mission.
Export requirements
All persons or companies intending to temporarily export or import defence, military service, or technical data items must obtain a DDTC authorisation (Directorate of Defence Trade Controls).
The formalities are long and sometimes so difficult that many American companies currently refuse to obtain export licences even though they have orders from Europe.
Using its US office, FARE Trade has made it a speciality of obtaining and managing export licences for these suppliers. Most often it is the customer who puts us in contact with the supplier so that we can obtain the required licence.
